Socioeconomic Development:
This program is one of the basic programs of the organization started in 1980, which continued with different donor’s support. Since 1994 and 2000 the program has been implementing in Jamalpur sadar, Melandah, Motherganj, Islampur and Dewanganj of Jamalpur district and Sherpur sadar, Nakla and Jhinaigati of Sherpur district in assistance of CORDAID-Netherlands and organizational own fund. Health and nutrition is one of the components of the program. Presently the activities are going on mentioned bellow-
- – Group formation and development.
- – Weekly group meeting discussing health-nutrition, water-sanitation, rights, and other socioeconomic issues.
- – Training on primary health care and nutrition, group development, rights and leadership.
- – Training on Gender & development and skill development on IGA operation
- – Support for vegetable gardening
- – Awareness building on socioeconomic issues
- – Linkage development between group members and GOB-NGOs service centers.
- – Support for hard-core poor for their development
- – Savings and credit support
- – Small entrepreneurship development.
