Nutrition Sensitive Value Chains for Smallholder Farmers (NSVC) Project
The project has been implementing at Dewanganj and Islampur upazilas under Jamalpur district since February 2018 in partnership with World Vision Bangladesh and funded by the DFATANCP and it will be continued up to June 2022. The goal of the project is Smallholder farmers and their families have improved nutrition and economic empowerment. Adopting a nutritionsensitive agriculture (NSA) approach, the project has been working to improve nutrition through multiple pathways. First pathway is to increase income of smallholder farmers with 20-90 decimal land owners through value chain development. Second pathway is to improve the utilization and consumption of nutritious food at the household level by increasing availability of nutritious foods for consumption. Third pathway is to increase gender equitable relations using the MenCare approach. Fourth pathway is to increase learning on nutrition-sensitive agriculture in Bangladesh.
The Outcomes of the Project are-
