Socioeconomic development for the char dwellers

The program started in 2000 with the support of Actionaid-Bangladesh. It is also a basic program of the organization implementing in Islampur and Dewanganj upazilla in Jamalpur district. The main activities of the program are-

– Group formation and developing self help group.
– Group meeting discussing different socioeconomic issues including health-nutrition.
– Support for nutrition gardening
– Right-based activities/drama/UP tax collection
– Linkage development between beneficiaries and different service providers
– Good governance and support for watching overall development activities
– Support for hard-core poor for their development
– Savings based credit
– Training on health-nutrition, IGAs, rights, group development, leadership, gender & development etc.
– Child sponsorship/child development
– Disaster management/preparedness and
– Capacity building for Union Parishad (UP)
