Child protection: Community mechanism and national policy (CP: CMNP)

The project started in 2002 in partnership with Save the Children (SC)-UK. The organization has been implementing the program in 7 different districts under Greater Mymensingh in Dhaka division and Rajshahi division. The districts are- Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona, Kishorganj, Mymensingh, Tangail and Sirajganj. Though the organization has been working with the women and child rights from the very beginning, but it has got a familiarity, goodwill and nice shape since 2002 in assistance of Manusher Jonno through SC-UK. Presently the program is implementing in Jamalpur and Sherpur district with more importance in assistance of Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF). The basic activities of the program mentioned bellow-

– Cooperate district administration for successful implementation of Children Act’1974
– Participate meeting of district taskforce relating release of children from jail
– Organize training, workshop, seminar and meeting at upazilla, district level with GOB-NGO and private sector for establishing community mechanism
– Collection list of children in jail from 7 Jails/District authorities.
– Orient jail visitors (Official /non-Official).
– Communication with Probation officers
– Assist to send children from jail to Kishor Unnayan Kendra (KUK).
– Rehabilitation of children released from jail
– Movement against violence, abuse, discrimination against children
