Community health and nutrition program (CHNP):

Community health and nutrition program was one of the basic programs of the organization implemented in 7 upazillas (Melandah, Matherganj, Jamalpur sadar, Sherpur sadar, Jhinaigati, Sreebardi, Nakla) in Jamalpur and Sherpur district up to 1993. Save the Children Fund-British-Columbia funded it through South Asia Partnership (SAP)-Bangladesh. The program activities were-

– Formation of mother’s forum
– Immunization for women and children
– Mini-clinic operation for general treatment and referral
– Courtyard meeting with mothers on reproductive health- nutrition and family planning
– Training on primary health care and nutrition, tube well maintenance
– Support for vegetable and fruit gardening and
– Distribution of tube well and sanitary latrine
