Background

Unnayan Sangha (US) is a local NGO registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau (registration number 310 dated 29.07.1989) and Department of Social Welfare (registration No:Ma-0200 dated 18-04-1981) of the government of Bangladesh. Unnayan Sangha is an NGO working for socio economic development of the Poor since 1980.

Unnayan Sangha has been working for sustainable development of the disadvantaged communities particularly poor, ultra-poor and differently able communities, men & women and children living in plain land of greater Mymensingh and Sirajgonj Districts as well as in River basin area and hilly areas. With its integrated development approach, Unnayan Sangha has worked in the areas of group formation and capacity building, primary health care services, safe drinking water & sanitation, education, food security, land-reformation, social forestation, asset transfer, livestock, farming, fisheries, income generation, marketing, social protection of women & children, local governance and human rights. Vision: The vision of the organization is “A society, based on equality, fairness and good governance, which   can ensure sustainable development and people’s empowerment”.
